Chad - This extremely handsome boy will be one year old on November 12th! He's a gorgeous chocolate piebald male who weighs 13 pounds. Chad is very shy, we are working with him to overcome some of his timidity - and I can see it in his eyes that he really wants lap time and enjoys being held! he's fully vetted, healthy, neutered, etc. and would be the best of dogs for someone who is willing to continue working with him to gain his confidence. Chad has the potential to be a great, loving companion. I'd suggest a home with no kids to startle him. He's good w/ other dogs, not sure of cats though! "This boy is extremely shy and timid, it will take someone with patience and love to help this fella come out of his shell and start to trust humans." Update for Happy Ending:Chad was a handsome, beautiful young man - a chocolate piebald boy with a shy personality, but a loving heart. He loves to be with other dogs and found himself a home with a military man who adores his doxie friends! He now has 4 brother doxies to play with and take long power naps with. His dad, while a big guy, also has a big heart and loves his little dachshunds to pieces - exactly what Chad needed in a forever home, plenty of dogs ot play with, a dad, an uncle and a granddad to watch over him and keep him safe, happy and healthy! Lives in SA.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
