Cinder, has come back to our rescue needing a new home for her and her sister, Queen. They are looking for someone that will let them stay together.

They have been on a long journey with an unimaginable set of circumstances that are not their fault.   They came to Diamond Dachshund from a humane society in January 2023, asking us to take them because they are mostly dachshund and the humane society wanted them to have a better chance to be adopted through our rescue.

They came in and were fostered by different people in different homes. Then there was a wonderful previous adopter that wanted to adopt both girls to put them back together. Queen had severe depression and challenges to conquer until she got to live with her sister again. This was a successful match up. Cinder and Queenie were very happy together with their loving mom, this past spring.

Recently their new mom has been diagnosed with Leukemia and can no longer provide them with a perfect home. She loves them very much. However she feels they must find a home with more stability. She wants what is best for the dogs now and in the future.  After being boarded for a month, while she was in the hospital, she reached out to us to ask us to please take them back and help them find a new forever family setting.  Upon their return, they have been placed in a single foster home together. And therefore they are being observed, and kept together by one foster.

Cinder is a happy go lucky kind of dog that loves toys that squeek. She is immediately friendly to everyone. She is free thinking and loves to be outside. Cinder likes to visit with the dog on the other side of the privacy fence and will dig a little to try and visit.

Cinder is playful with all the dogs in the house and is an adamant squirrel chaser. She has a very deep bark and a couple of sound effects that do not sound like a dog. She is very stout and stocky made with a stubby tail reminding us a little like a piglet!  She and Queen love to hang out together and sleep together at night in a large kennel but would prefer to be in your bedroom. Cinder is quite independent and busy but loves being playful and get pets and give licks.

Cinder was successfully treated for Heartworms while in our rescue earlier. Cinder has ultimate confidence that she  shares with Queen. They love playing together and napping together.

She is hoping she can stay with her sister Queen because she knows she balances Queen’s personality. Together they are both more complete.   They are funny girls that love playing with each other.
