Toby is new to rescue. He found himself in a local shelter as a stray.  It looks like he had been hit by a car.  Our rescue picked him up and took him straight to one of our vets.  Despite all this, he was giving everyone tail wags and kisses.  Toby just turned a year old and he weighs 13 pounds.  Toby loves being in your lap.  He loves playing with other dogs in the house expecially the younger puppy and now that he is doing better, he gets the zoomies outside.  Because he is a puppy, he needs lots of interaction with the humans or dog siblings.  Due to him being in the kennel during recovery, he is still learning where to go potty and will sometimes use a potty pad.  He is also working on his puppy play biting since he is older, it sometimes can be too rough.  Toby is such a happy go lucky little guy that loves everybody!

Toby is now ready for adoption. He had a broken leg that will need surgery and he has a pelvic/leg fracture on the opposite side.  Toby has finished his crate rest.  He will be a little stiff for a bit and may always have a little funny walk but he is doing great and has been released for adoption!

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
