Colby Finn is a 8 year old male dachshund and only weighs 9 pounds.  Colby is so sweet.  He gets along well with other dogs.  He walked right into his new foster home and just became part of the pack.  He likes dog beds, laps and just feeling safe.  Everyone that spends time around him just loves him.  Colby is adjusting and has learned the doggie door.  Colby loves to have his back scratched.  He also loves attention, if you stop petting him, he takes his paw gently and tried to move your hand back for more scratches and rubs.  He likes children but due to his injuries he had, he would be best with older/considerate kids.  Colby will need to be on a stool softener the rest of his life since he had to have a hernia repaired, which is no problem for him because he eats it in his food.  His broken jaw is healing on its own and it does not seem to bother him.  He does eat a soft food diet.

Colby is not ready for adoption yet.  Poor guy has a large hernia that will need a specialist to fix.  He will be neutered at that same time and it is reported that he has a lower right jaw fracture.  With all of this, he is a happy, go lucky boy.  He will make someone a wonderful companion once he is healed and feeling better.  If you would like to sponsor him during this time, please click on the sponsorship button!

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
