Hello everybody, I'm Rusty Taylor! It took a while but I am FINALLY ready for my forever home!

When I was found several months ago and taken to a shelter, I had severe chemical burns all the way down my back. I needed special care and medication so Diamond Dachshund to the rescue! Then while being treated for the burns it was also discovered that I had those nasty heartworms. But now, my back is healed and those heartworms are gone!

I've had a lot of time to think about my new home. Here are a few things I think you should know about me. My foster mom says I am the happiest pup, even after all I have been through, I love life! I'm only about 2 years old and I want to run and play so if there was a kid who would play with me or an active adult who would take me out for walks or to the park, that would be great! I would love to have a fence yard. I don't think an apartment or cats would be the best thing for me. I've spent time with some foster brothers and sisters and I get along with them but if I were an only child, I think that would be ok too.

Oh, I'm house trained and I'm OK in a crate too. I prefer to sleep in the big bed but I can sleep beside you on the floor.

Also.... in case you didn't notice my pics, I have the most adorable under bite.... everybody loves it!

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.
