About Daisy May

  • Status: Available for Adoption (adoption info)
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 21-0179
  • Color: Red
  • Current Size: 8 Pounds
  • Current Age: 12 Years 2 Months (best estimate)

Frosty-faced Daisy May is a sassy, classy older lady who is looking for her forever home.  Daisy insists it’s rude to ask a lady her age, and she refuses to give us an honest answer.  As such, we are going to give a best guess estimate of 12 years old.  Daisy has recently had a dental to help her get rid of rotten, broken, or otherwise bad teeth.  Turns out, that was all her teeth!  She eats wet food well, and even eats some kibble if it has been soaked in water first.  Daisy's ideal home is one where she can laze about and soak up some sunshine in peace and quiet.  She has told foster mom that her perfect house would be one where she is literally put on a pedestal and admired.  She's fine being petted, but really only wants attention from you when she asks for it.  She doesn't have issues with other pups her size, but larger dogs aren't her thing.  Small children are not recommended, Daisy is easily spooked by quick movements and rough handling.  Daisy's very vocal, even for a dachshund.  Foster mom says it has taken a few weeks to teach Daisy to use an "inside voice", and sometimes Daisy forgets what that means.  Crate trained, Dog Door trained, Potty pad trained!

Daisy is estimated at 12 years old and only 8 pounds.
