Blakely, who responds to Benji, came into rescue with his sister and another relative. He is a 7 year old, red dachshund. He currently weighs 13 pounds, and could stand to lose a pound or two, but otherwise in good health. He has some skin issues, but they are clearing up. Appears to be bug bites, so good baths and good food will help his skin. He also has an old injury to his hind leg. It does not appear to cause him any pain, and he has learned to compensate. He can walk on it, but sometimes when he runs, he pulls it up and runs on 3 legs.

Blakely is extremely affectionate, loves to be snuggled and give kisses. When he's done, he's happiest curled up in a dog bed, in a soft blanket or on the back of the couch. He had learned to use a dog ramp, and we are working on the doggie door. He is house trained, but until he learns the doggie door, you must take him out every few hours.

He is used to being with multiple dogs and prefers to be crated with another dog rather than be alone.

Blakely is just waiting for a dental and then he'll be ready to go. Is he the perfect fit for your home?
