Hi, my name is Sherman Ruddy and I’m a 12-year-old frosty-faced red, male, dachshund! I weigh about 15 pounds and I LOVE to sleep and lay in the sun! Sometimes I think I’m a lizard! I follow my Foster Mama around sometimes like she’s the Pied Piper, just so I know what she’s up to! I’m rooming with five other dachshunds that pretty much let me be me, which is the way I like it.

My most favorite thing to do is cuddle with my Foster Mama while she’s drinking her coffee and reading in the morning and I absolutely love it when she holds me and I can give her kisses. I’m deaf so really high-energy dogs or children are definitely NOT my cup of tea as they startle me and I get really grumpy then, so only calmer pups and older children please.

I am on an inexpensive medication for seizures, which I will need to stay on for the rest of my life. I am doing great on them. I am potty trained and love using a doggie door and I sleep in my very own doggy bed.

My ideal home would really be someone that’s home pretty much all the time that I can hang with and be lazy around.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.
