Hello. I'm Sausage, a sweet, gentle dachshund mix puppy.  I'm one of the quieter boys in my family but I'm not the most shy anymore! I'm gentle, a little more shy than some of the others, but I like to give kisses, sit in laps, and be loved. I love treats and I LOVE to run and play. I enjoy toys and running and climbing... but I like to do my own thing or hang out with my fosters and get a snuggle. I figured out the doggie door first and I also do great with potty pads, too. I am learning to sit and stay and I've really got those behaviors figured out pretty well because I'm very eager to please and intelligent! I will need a gentle family who will understand that I might need time and patience-- I really like kids (I've met a few and was very interested in them), but quiet, considerate kids would be best for me since I'm a little shy. If you are looking for a sweet and fun little sausage, here I am.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
