About Hattie Mae

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 20-0119
  • Color: Red
  • Current Size: 5.65 Pounds
  • Current Age: 5 Years 8 Months (best estimate)

This is Hattie.  She is a tiny and very cute chi-weenie.  You can see the dachshund and the chihuahua in her.  She only weighs 5 and 1/2 pounds.  She was skinny but I know she is filling  out now that she is on a good diet.  A good samaritan found her and knew she needed help right away. Hattie went to a shelter for help with a badly injured leg.  Something happened to her leg and it was damaged with the bone exposed.  Even though Hattie was in pain, she was so sweet.  Due to Hattie loosing her leg, a home without small children or stairs would be best for her.

Hattie has had all her leg surgery and spay and vetting done and she is now ready for adoption. She is very sweet.  She likes other dogs and her only having 3 legs has not slowed her down.

Special Needs: Her right leg was cut off but bone was exposed...released her to us so she can get the surgery to have the rest of the leg removed. She will only have 3 legs.

Love dachshunds and not ready to adopt or circumstances won't permit having a dog?  How about being a sponsor or making a donation.  Every one of our dachshunds receives excellent medical care along with day to day food, love and housing.  Being non-profit, we rely on generous individuals like yourselves to help save these fur babies.  You can do this specifically for one dog with the sponsor button on their webpage or a general donation on our “How To Help” page.  Easy and quick through Pay Pal or your debit/credit card.  You generosity is sincerely appreciated by all and is tax deductable.  Need other ideas?  You'll find tons of them on the How to Help tab.  All contributions are tax deductable.
