Opal is a one year old dachshund-terrier mix, she is white and black short hair and really looks like a dachshund, with long ears, long body and short legs.  She was picked up as a stray by ACS in San Antonio.  When the workers came in the next morning, she was not alone!  She had 4 brand new puppies with her!!  DDRTX came in immediately and rescued her and her babies so they wouldn't have to spend another minute there!

Opal is a fantastic mom, she is always right there when the pups need her.  She is a very sweet dog, likes to be petted and loved on.  She doesn't sit still at the moment because she has to check on her babies every 5 minutes.  She is playful with the other dogs in the foster's home. She loves all of the people, adults and kids. We aren't sure about cats or babies/children. None in foster's home.
Opal's puppies were born on April 10th. She had 1 girl and 3 boys. They are walking around now and starting to play with each other and their mom. They growl at each other when they play.

Opal and her family are not ready for adoption just yet.  The puppies have more growing to do.  If you would like to sponsor this family, hit the sponsor me button!

Special Needs: Opal came into ACS pregnant and then she had 4 pups the next day.
