“Ellie Belle is the “belle of the ball” and is a beautiful standard dachshund. Ellie Belle really thinks that she is a grand and glorious lapdog, with quite a goofy streak with toys and zoomies! Ellie is truly the sweetest girl. She loves to snuggle and sit at your feet looking at you with the kindest eyes.

She loves being outside spending time attempting to chase birds and squirrels and when she’s tired of that, she will take her rest in the shade.

She is kennel trained and potty trained and loves car rides. Ellie has recently learned to heel on walks which helps significantly with strangers and surprises. She will still get a bit spooked, but a quick redirect with the leash takes care of everything.

The type of family that will fit Ellie BEST is a family that is very dachshund savvy to help with her guard dog mentality of new people in her pack.” Ellie needs a household that will keep her busy for 3 hours every day including walks. A bored Ellie gets into trouble. No kids, while she is good with them, she isn't good with all the commotion they can cause. She needs a calm household without too many surprises and another dog that will play with her.

Her foster homes says she is the sweetest dog, to know her is to love her!

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.
