Meet Toby Keith.  This 3-year-old young dachshund was found wandering the streets when a good Samaritan picked him up and contacted DDRTX to help.

Toby is a little boy with a big personality! He loves toys and hoards them whenever he can from his foster brother. He likes to play with other small dogs and is interested in big dogs, but is a little leery of them. He can use the doggie door, but would prefer that you let him out the big door. He has a hard time getting up some steps, but 2-3 are okay. He loves to sleep on his foster family's laps, and especially loves being under the covers on the big bed! Once he goes to sleep for the night, he is out! He barks at new people, but once he gets to know them he just wants to be pet and snuggled. He is a little skittish if he gets bumped by someone's feet and will yelp and run, but he is learning to stay out of the way in the kitchen. He would love to have a home with another dog friend to play with and lots of toys!

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
