Colin is a 6-year-old black and tan male. He and his sister Kayla were found wandering the streets with several other dogs.  They were taken in by a good samaritan but she could only keep 2 of the 4, so she contacted us for help.

Colin really depends on his sister for comfort.  She helps him relax and feel more comfortable.  When they are together, they both will be in your lap or laying next to you on the couch.  When she comes for pets, he comes for pets.  When she isn't around, he feels scared and will hide.  She looks for him and mothers him sometimes.  They are really cute together.  They are housebroken with the exception if it's raining outside or if not let you for a long time. This handsome guy needs a patient family.  He is timid, shy, and will take time to learn to trust and feel safe with a new family.  Kayla does help with that.  That is why we feel that it would be great if the 2 stayed together.  They would do better in a home where the humans are home more often and not have to be left along long days.  They do need to be crated up when gone because they get anxious and curious in the beginning but will settle down in a few weeks once they learn the routine and that you are coming back home.

Colin is light heartworm positive and is ready to find his new home under a Heartworm Provisional contract.  Diamond Dachshund Rescue pays all expenses under this contract.

If you are looking for a nice pair of dogs that will love to be loved and need to be loved, then you want to meet Collin and sister Kayla, please fill out your application today!
