Vondee

With great sadness we said goodbye to our beloved Vondee on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

We adopted Vondee from DDRTX in June 2009 and cherished every minute of the seventeen years we spent with her.  She was a resilient and devoted companion who provided endless love through both happy and challenging times.  Despite recovering from two back surgeries and a difficult encounter with another dog, she remained joyful, always greeting us with a lick and a wagging tail.  Vondee was the reigning queen of our home, which has included 7 dachshunds, 1 lab, and 3 mixes over the last 26 years.

Thank you to DDRTX for the work you do; we would not have had her in our lives without your organization.  This photo taken seven years ago perfectly captures her wonderful glow.
