Harlow Lee...a dachshund that will absolutely make your heart melt.  He's not only adorable, but he's quite the lover. He came to DDRTX with some medical issues, but has recovered well.  He was heartworm positive and completed his heartworm treatment.  Prior to that he had surgery to repair a broken hip, remove back dew claws, and to be neutered. He was in the hands of fantastic doctors at Travis Country Veterinary Hospital in Austin, and his foster mom is a technician at the hospital, and has been in the veterinary field for over 12 years. Harlow received A+ treatment and tons of love from the entire staff, and has also opened up to the new world around him.  Walks & playing with dogs his size is great for his recovery. Physical therapy is all about patience, and while he may never have the walk of a "show dog", he's no longer in pain & loves play time with his dachshund buddies!

He's being fostered with 3 other male dachshunds, and is getting along fabulously! He loves cuddle time, he's become an expert yard explorer, he's crate trained and his favorite past time is sun-bathing. Harlow has a big appetite and has been very easy to medicate, so getting him to take his monthly heartworm prevention should be a piece of cake. He has shown no interest in the neighborhood cat, and has gotten along with two children (ages 2 and 3).  

His foster family really loves this little guy. His new family will definitely be rewarded with years of love and puppy kisses!!

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
