Denver Belle is now available for adoption as a special needs dogs.  She will require 1 pill daily (ace inhibitor) for her heart.  She's looking for a home where her new family will have the patience to deal with a fear dog.  She'd prefer a quiet home, with a big comfy bed and a lap that she can sit in.  Someone that will take her for short walks.  She gets so excited when it's time to walk even though she's still afraid of all the noises she'll constantly look up at you during the walk for encouragement. She loves to be brushed.

7/25/15 Update:  Denver Belle went in for her annual appointment.  She is doing well and the vet stated her heart sounds good.  She is no longer coughing.  She will continue to take an ace inhibitor.  She uses the doggie door well but doesn't know how to tell you when she has to go to the bathroom so she'll need to be taken out consistently.  She loves to go for walks but is still nervous and afraid of sounds/noises.  She loves to sit in your lap and sleep in the big bed.  She does well with all people but she'd do best with a home without a lot of activity.  She usually finds a favorite spot and always goes there whether it is a dog bed or a chair.  She's still fearful but has come a long way in the year in rescue.

4/27/15 Update:  Denver Belle underwent a second hernia repair surgery on Thursday 4/23/15.  She is recuperating.  She had been coughing so the vet looked at her heart and lungs.  There were some changes in her heart since her last x-ray and fluid on in her lungs.  She has started medication for these issues.  Due to her recent medical issues she will be under observation for awhile and not ready for adoption however, she is available for sponsorship.

I was recently told I look like goldilocks.  Now wonder I was used for breeding.  After I was no longer needed I was given to rescue.  I'm so glad DDRTX took me in and are getting me all fixed up.  I know I'll feel 100% in no time.  Due to all the litters I delivered prior to coming into rescue it took a toll on my body.  Thanks to DDRTX I will no longer have anymore puppies.  I was spayed, had mammary tumors removed which thankfully were benign, a hernia repaired and my rotten teeth pulled.  While I only have 5 teeth that doesn't stop me from eating hard or snacks.  I underwent heartworm treatment in November.   I am a petite 10 lb girl.  I'm a very sweet, shy girl.  I'm learning a lot from my foster brother and sisters.  Shhhh...don't tell my foster mom but they're teaching me how to go up the stairs/ramp to the furniture and bed.  I prefer to sleep in the big bed.  I'm even starting to play with the others. I have conquered the doggie door.  While I won't tell you when I have to go potty I do know how to use the doggy door and if you don't have one you'll just need to take me out on a regular basis and I'll go. I do well when taken out on a regular schedule but won't go out the doggie door on my own to do my business.  I love to sit on my foster mom's and brother's lap but I'm still nervous to go up to them unless they're sitting down or they get down to my level.   I'm still very skittish.  I love attention and am learning to trust.  When I see all the attention my foster sisters and brother get I join right in.  I'm learning to play with toys and I have my favorite that I will carry around and guard while I rest.
