Howdy there!  I’m Copper Kruger and I am going to look into your eyes and show you just how wonderful I am!  At only about a year and a half old, I am playful, friendly, sweet, and very gentle.  I have soulful eyes that just beg you pet me and a cute little brown nose that needs kissing.  I’m a tiny bit shy at first but once I am comfortable with you, I will follow you ANYWHERE.  I am loyal and loving and would just love to play with you, other dogs, and fun toys.  I love to give kisses and cuddle and would ADORE sleeping the big bed with you!  So, “what’s a wonderful dog like you doing in rescue” you ask?  Well, my pelvis was crushed before I came into rescue which makes me a Special Needs boy.  I have healed a lot, but I might never walk completely the same as I did before.  I limp a little on my back leg, but acupuncture and chiropractic care is REALLY helping me.  I need a family who understands my limits, but also gets that because I am so young, I need exercise and playtime!  There is one other thing… and it embarrasses me to say this…. but sometimes, due to my crushed pelvis, my “gun” comes out of my “holster” and I need a little help putting it away--- if you know what I mean.  With further acupuncture, chiropractic care, and strengthening of my pelvic area and legs, this problem might go away-- it has gotten MUCH better already!  My foster mom says that the situation is easy enough to deal with, so please, don’t let it freak you out!  Honestly, I just want a family who will love for who I am: including my imperfections.  Could you love me like that?

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
