My name is Beethoven and I am an AKC registered wirehaired dachshund. I am very skittish because of the experiences I have been through but I have made amazing progress at my current foster home. I love having another dog in the house with me. It makes me feel so much more safe and comfortable. I enjoy napping on the couch, getting treats, going on walks, and trips to the dog park! I’m not a lap dog but I love to be near you once I’m warmed up to you.  I don't dislike children, but they move very fast and this makes me nervous-- in fact, I am very interested in them but I am too worried about them to try and get close. I like to sniff around the backyard with my foster sister and explore all the smells. When I get really excited I run around the backyard wagging my tail and then run to my foster mom to give her kisses. All I need is time to feel comfortable with new people and you will fall in love with me…you will see! I am potty trained and love the doggie door. I hardly ever bark and do not shed at all! I would love a furever home.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
