Hello there, my name is Jade and I am so happy to meet you.  I am a gentle, quiet soul with a long history.  Last year, DDRTX picked me up at a kill shelter— they knew I was injured, but they didn’t know just how badly.  As it turns out, I had 2 broken hips and a crushed pelvis and uterus.  I was VERY sick and needed emergency care.  DDRTX provided me with life-saving surgery and tried to fix me up as best as they could.  Ultimately, they could not completely fix my hips but you have to know, I get around just fine now!  While I am a little wobbly and I need to rest frequently, I LOVE to play.  My fosters say I have the warmest brown eyes that can give you a look that makes it impossible to say no to.  I am very quiet and rarely bark, I am house trained, crate trained, great with all kinds of people and animals, and I love to be loved.  I would love to sleep with my people in the big bed, though fluffy doggie beds on the floor are ok, too.  Oh!  Is that a big doggie toy?  I love toys that are bigger than me and I’ll drag them all to my dog bed to cuddle with them.  I am not the least bit destructive, so once I have a toy I like, it’ll be around for a long time.  You know what else I like?  Treats!  I am easily motivated with food, so that makes me easy to train.  Won’t you give me a chance?

Jade is a Special Needs dog who requires a specific home.  Jade is looking for a family who is able to keep an eye out for her because she never complains.  Jade is very much like any other dog, but she has limits that must be considered.  Short walks with frequent breaks help keep her strong, but it is important to remember her limits. Water therapy would also be a great choice to help her muscles strengthen.  While Jade is an easy, loving, gentle dog who will easily fit into most homes, she cannot maneuver stairs, doggie doors, or anything that she has to step up or down more than 4 inches at the very most.  Jade does GREAT with ramps. Please contact us if you have any questions about Jade’s needs.
