When I came into rescue I came from a place that didn't give me much attention and I didn't get much to eat.  That left me pretty skinny and not feeling my best.   But I am a big healthy boy now!  I'm a small standard and a real solid guy.  I have a pretty, soft red and white Piebald coat and one sparkly blue eye!  I don't mind sharing my space with friendly female dogs, but would prefer not to compete for attention with the boys. I have a happy disposition and some energy so I would like to have somebody to play with.  You can watch my video to see I can even play with smaller dogs just fine.  I am good at using the doggie door except when it rains (what dachshund likes the rain?) but I will go outside on the patio if that is ok with you.

I love snacks and treats but because I didn't get enough food before my rescue.  I'm good with most kids and would love one of my own to play with.  If you need a watchdog, I am your guy.  I stand ready to alert you to any and every move in the yard.  I bark at people I hear outside and sometimes at people on our walks, more so  children than adults. My foster mom has learned that I don't like stairs so it would be best that I go to a home with no more than 3 or 4 stairs.   She also says I am one of the smartest doxies she has ever met!  She shows me something just one time and I remember it pretty well. I can sleep on the couch, in a dog bed but I really loves to share your bed, I'm a good sleeper and will even sleep in on the weekends.   I like to burrow and sleep under the covers! I like to cuddle, but also likes his space at the end of the couch or in my bed.  I would really like the chance to show you what a good boy I am.
