I came into rescue from Animal Control Services in San Antonio with my four 3 week old babies.  It was really sad because my babies had already been exposed to something bad and they all went to the rainbow bridge.  I was very sad for a while but I am starting to come out of my shell now.  I'm a big boned girl, not one of those delicate little foofy girls.  My foster mom tells me I am real smart and independent.  But I like to play with my foster doxie siblings and with toys.  Toys!  I will greet you at the door with one of my toys!
I use a doggie door to take care of my business outside but I will also use those special little pads you humans like to put down for me on the floor.  A home that is kinda on the quiet side would let me continue to come out of my shell and trust people more.  Older kids would probably be OK.  Please give me a try to be a part of your family.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
